During this webinar we will summarize current conditions in Lake Erie, and you will hear about ongoing efforts to manage excess phosphorus loads that are leading to toxic and nuisance algal blooms and hypoxia.
Topics that will be covered include:
- Current conditions in Lake Erie, including nutrient loading and severity of blooms.
- Collaborative efforts to reduce phosphorus across southwestern Ontario.
- A closer look at phosphorus trends in the Maumee river and other priority tributaries.
The webinar will be led by representatives from the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Canada Water Agency, with additional speakers from Conservation Authorities and Heidelberg University. The webinar is open to the public.
