Join us as we explore the effects of nutrients and algae on Lake Ontario. Mark your calendars for May 19, 2026, at 12 pm ET for a one-hour public webinar, Nutrients and Algae in Lake Ontario,” as part of the Let’s Talk Lake Ontario! webinar series.

Learn how nutrients influence algae growth and overall ecosystem health across the Lake Ontario basin. Hear about efforts to better understand and manage harmful algal blooms in New York State using the Harmful Algal Blooms Research Guide, and explore how nutrient mapping in the Lake St. Francis watershed is helping to identify nutrient sources and their impacts on the ecosystem.

Guest speakers are Daniel Rokitnicki (Canada Water Agency); Sarah Goodrich (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation); and Erin Smith (The River Institute).

This webinar is free, open to the public and recommended for anyone who is passionate about the Great Lakes!
