(Webinar) Habitat and Species Protection in Lake Superior Hosted by the Lake Superior Partnership

Posted: May 19, 2026

Join us as we learn how Canada and the U.S. are working together to protect habitat, wildlife and ecosystem health in the Lake Superior basin. Mark your calendars for June 2, 2026, at 11 am CT (12 pm ET) for a one-hour public webinar, “Habitat and Species Protection in Lake Superior,” as part of our Let’s Talk Lake Superior! webinar series.

Learn about coastal habitats in Lake Superior and their importance in supporting ecosystem health and resilience. Find out how scientists are monitoring changes in Herring Gull populations and what these changes reveal about ecosystem balance and food web dynamics. We will also hear how acoustic bat monitoring is being used to track bat populations and understand key threats.

Guest speakers include Anders Holder (Canada Water Agency), Courtney Irvine (Parks Canada) and Mallory Verch (Bay Mills Indian Community).

This webinar is free, open to the public and recommended for anyone who is passionate about the Great Lakes!
